Greeley Junior Shooting Club

The Greeley Junior Shooting Club is a youth club with an extreme focus on the safe operation of precision firearms. The Club trains juniors in Olympic and NRA style shooting of both Rifle (Smallbore and Air) and Pistol (Air). The program focuses on the value of always doing your best no matter what level of skill you have. The Greeley Junior Shooting club believes that safe and friendly competition is healthy and helps build Self-Confidence, Discipline and encourages kids to always do their very best.

We encourage every member to compete with honor and integrity to the best of their ability in everything they do. Unlike most sports, Shooting is an individual sport and no matter what level of experience a shooter can compete and perform well. No matter what level, most of the competition a shooter experiences comes from within. We do not encourage shooters to beat each other but rather compete against themselves, and always strive to improve their performance. No matter how many people are in a match, it is important that the competitors understand that the only person they should compete against is themselves. With this approach a child will learn that hardest thing to over come is limitation we put on ourselves. Once they lean that, they are able to excel in anything they attempt.

The Greeley Junior Shooting Club has members at every skill level. We currently have members that are very new to the sport as well as very experienced shooters. Our Members include kids that either compete or plan to compete in 4H events. Some of our members do not plan to compete in matches and only compete against themselves. We have members that have competed at National levels and some that have tried out for the 2008 US Olympic team. So if you are a shooter or want to be Greeley Junior Shooting Club just might be for you.

So you decided you want to compete. Now what? Most kids enter into shooting sports the same way. Someone hears there is a place their kid can learn to shoot so they take the kid to the range to shoot. Some people even take a rifle they already own a long with them to the range others use club rifles. The child ends up really liking the sport and she decides she is good at it. The next thing you know, the kid is hooked and wants to take the next step into competitive shooting. Dad gets excited and want to start buying stuff, right?
We at the Greeley Junior Shooting Club strongly suggest that people new to the sport talk to knowledgeable people before making any purchases.
